Switch from CBS Sports to League Tycoon

CBS Sports Fantasy has quietly hosted some of the longest-running dynasty and salary cap leagues in fantasy football. Those leagues also tend to be the ones with the most to lose in a move, which is exactly why they stay. League Tycoon imports CBS leagues directly, including the salaries and contract years that usually make a migration feel impossible.

Built-in import

You do not have to rebuild your CBS league by hand

League Tycoon imports CBS leagues directly. Paste a link to your CBS league and sign in with your CBS email and password, which is exchanged for a session token on our servers and never stored. The import brings over your rosters, league settings and scoring, future draft picks, team logos, contracts where the source has them, and up to 20 seasons of league history. Past seasons come back as real seasons you can browse week by week, with standings, matchup lineups, playoff brackets, and final standings.

CBS is one of the platforms that exposes salary and contract data, so a CBS salary cap league imports with its contracts intact. CBS support is in beta.

How league import works

Why leagues move off CBS

  • A dated experience, especially on a phone
League Tycoon is a native app on iOS and Android with a full web experience beside it, and the two have the same features and the same data.
  • Salary cap rules that live half in the app
Dead money, franchise tags, rookie contracts, extensions, and cap compliance are enforced by League Tycoon rather than tracked alongside it.
  • No dynasty-native draft formats
Slow auction drafts run over days or weeks with 20+ players on the block at once, which is the format most dynasty leagues actually want and few platforms offer.
  • No trade auctions
Post a trade and let the rest of the league counter-bid on the players involved, so market price is visible to everyone.
  • Governance tools handled by hand
Compensatory picks and a configurable draft lottery are built in rather than run on the honor system.

For CBS salary cap and contract leagues

This is the case where the import earns its keep. A CBS salary cap league carries years of negotiated contracts, and retyping them is both tedious and the fastest way to start an argument. The import reads the salaries and contract years straight from CBS and writes them onto a League Tycoon contract dynasty league.

Caps larger than League Tycoon's 10,000 maximum are scaled by a power of ten rather than clipped, and every salary is scaled by the same factor, so relative value is preserved exactly. A $300,000,000 cap becomes $3,000 and a $50,000,000 player becomes $500.

From there the platform owns the math: dead money, franchise tags, RFA tenders, extensions, rookie contracts, and cap compliance are all enforced automatically.

Step-by-step migration guide

1. Copy your CBS league link

Open your league on CBS and copy the URL. It contains the league identifier the import needs.

2. Run the import

In League Tycoon, open Tools, choose Import League, pick CBS, paste the link, and sign in with your CBS credentials. Choose standard dynasty or contract dynasty, and choose how many past seasons to bring over.

3. Review the preview

You see every team, roster counts, how many players matched, the settings being mapped, any salary cap scaling, which teams would land over the cap, and anything that will not carry over. Nothing is created until you approve it.

4. Work the post-import checklist

Unmatched players, scoring rules to confirm, contract years and contract rules, playoff and waiver settings. Each item deep links to the screen that resolves it.

5. Invite your league mates

Share the invite link and each league mate claims their own team from a list.

6. Go live

Set up your next draft and start the season with your rosters, contracts, and history already in place.

FAQ

Can I import my CBS league into League Tycoon?
Yes. League Tycoon has a built-in CBS import. You provide a link to your CBS league plus your CBS email and password. The password is exchanged for a session token on our servers and is never stored. The import brings over rosters, settings and scoring, future draft picks, team logos, salaries and contract years where your league has them, and your past seasons. CBS support is in beta.
Do CBS salaries and contract years come over?
Yes. CBS is one of the platforms that exposes salary and contract data, so a CBS salary cap league can import directly into a League Tycoon contract dynasty league with salaries and contract lengths intact. If your CBS league tracks salaries but not contract lengths, the wizard lets you choose a default length applied to every imported contract.
What happens if my CBS salary cap is much larger than League Tycoon's?
It is scaled, not truncated. League Tycoon's maximum salary cap is 10,000. A larger source cap and every salary under it are divided by the same power of ten until the cap fits, so a $300,000,000 cap becomes a $3,000 cap and a $50,000,000 player becomes $500. Every contract keeps its relative value, and the preview shows you the scaling and any teams that would land over the cap before anything is created.
Will my CBS league history come over?
Yes. League Tycoon imports up to 20 past seasons and rebuilds them as browsable seasons with standings, weekly matchups and lineups, playoff brackets, and final standings. The same import fills your Hall of Fame with all-time standings, head-to-head records, trophies for past champions, and all-time weekly high scores.
Is my CBS password stored?
No. Your CBS credentials are encrypted, exchanged server-side for a session token that reads only what your own account can already see, used for that single import, and deleted when it finishes. Abandoned imports are swept automatically.
Is League Tycoon free?
Standard dynasty leagues are completely free with zero ads. Contract dynasty, which adds salary caps and multi-year contracts, is a paid tier at $11.99 per team per year.
